Announcing my new e-Book! 🧨 Healthy, Homemade Dehydrated Meals
A new collection of world-inspired plant-based recipes for wild camping and backpacking adventures (or everyday convenience!)
Over the last year, a lot of you have written to say my blog recipes and free ebook have helped inspire better, tastier trail meals. That makes me absurdly happy.
But more questions kept coming up:
How do I plan a whole trip’s worth of dinners?
How many calories do I need?
What about shelf life?
How much should I actually pack?
And can I please have more recipes?
So I’ve pulled everything I’ve learned into a full ebook:
The book includes
Dehydrating basics - the gear you need and my no-brainer approach to making dehydrated meals
How to make your own backcountry bowl - a riffable method to create endless variety with your backpacking meals
20 plant-based recipes with nutrition info and adaptations for all appetites - if you’re an omnivore, I’ve got you covered, too
Tips for portion sizes and calorie guidelines depending on you and your trip
This is my first foray into self‑publishing paid content (one has to earn a living somehow). The ebook is £4.99, which I hope feels accessible and good value for a full set of trail‑tested dinners. Here’s a peak at some of the contents:

Congratulations on your book. I absolutely love your recipes! I’ve been dehydrating meals for bush walks for 8 years or so and was so happy to stumble onto your recipes. I’ve actually got 2 in the dehydrator right now (kimchi fried rice and tagine). I love the flavours and textures that you add to the meals. - Justine (Sydney, Australia)
If you’re curious but not sure, you can still grab my free e-Book for a taster:
I’ve got my cognitive wheels turning on future e-books and I’d love to know what topics you’d be interested in. Here’s few thoughts for you to vote on, or feel free to leave your own suggestions in the comments…
If you enjoy this kind of thing, it really helps if you tap “❤︎” or leave a quick comment — it tells Substack to show this post (and the new book!) to more like‑minded trail‑food nerds. Thanks!

I should bring you some of the MREs my chef friends make for soliders in eastern Ukraine - they make quite ambitious recipes for guys at the positions!
So useful!
